About Rudy

CEO Rudy Curtler boasts an impressive career as a real estate investor, starting with one single-family home investment in 2007. Prior to his immersion in the real estate sector, Rudy accumulated extensive, progressive leadership experience, spending 30+ years working at several Fortune 1000 corporations. He finished his corporate career as the Chief Operations Officer for one of the largest hair care franchises in the country before turning his attention full-time to Sawgrass Capital Partners.

Rudy's foray into real estate began as he looked to diversify his personal investment holdings. Driven by a passion for spotting promising opportunities, he gravitated towards mobile home park investing, ultimately accumulating 14 mobile home parks, 8 single-family rentals, 2 rental farms and some self-storage in his portfolio. Most recently the Sawgrass team has syndicated 9 mobile home parks and one franchise business (EverLine Coatings and Services, Twin Cities).

He has been featured as a guest on the Bigger Pockets podcast with Josh Dorkin and Brandon Turner, the Real Grit podcast with Neil Timmins, Passive Wealth Strategy podcast with Taylor Loht, Passive Mobile Home Park Investing podcast with Andrew Keel, in the Twin Cities Business Magazine, in Asphalt Pro Magazine, and was a guest on the"Real Finds" podcast with Gordon Lamphere.

Rudy spends his free time with his wife Laura, daughters Anna and Kate and their rescue animals Pete the cat, dogs Henry, Sam and Russell and Maddie the rescue turtle (ok, he doesn't spend much time with the turtle...).

What Is Your Favorite Investor Success Story?

“The investors in our first syndication have received all their capital back and they are now earning an infinite return on their investment. They will also share in the gains when we sell the park at some point in the near future. This infinite return, equity share, and no risk is the holy grail of all investments and the goal of all of our syndications.”
